The Problems of Sleeping in

Okay so I was going to post this yesterday, BUT some lightning hit our internet tower and the internet was down. 😦 So yeah, that’s why it’s today…

I must admit that I’m a night owl. I can never seem to wake up early, and so I know first hand the dilemmas this creates.

Problem #1 If you sleep in late you never learn how to make breakfast foods. I don’t know how to make pancakes, biscuits, and a lot of other breakfast foods. In fact, Thursday is ‘kids make super’ and we are making biscuits so I can learn how.

Problem #2 Sometimes early morning people wake you up REALLY EARLY and then you are short on sleep. Especially if you share a room with your younger sister and she comes in to get toys… but leaves the light on. I have a loft bed and when she turns the lights on they are level with my eyes. I’m owlish those days.

Problem #3 You have to hurry in the morning (even though that’s not really easy for night owls… coffee anyone?) When you wake up late and the rest of your family is already dressed, and wakes you up for breakfast… then you have maybe an hour to get ready/gather items you need etc.

So those are just three problems, and for different people there are different night owl/early bird problems.

What are your problems? Are you a night owl or early bird?

  1. You write well. This is a very entertaining post. Hmmm….I think I’m an early bird now that I’m retired and don’t have to get up for work every morning. 😊 Have a good weekend.

  2. I AM SO, TOTALLY A NIGHT OWL! I NEVER GET TO SLEEP until 12am-1am! What time do you usually fall asleep Loretta?
Another problem I have, is that’s the time I get most of my writing ideas, and that’s when I feel most creative!
Then, I sleep all morning until someone comes in and wakes me.
