Top 3 Online School Tips

Welcome back! This week I’m going to share some school tips for those students who are going virtual or who are virtual and are struggling a little bit. Some of it can also be applied to working online as well!

I’m going to provide a little explanation first about how my school works this year, so we’re all on the same page. I’ve been going in-person two days a week, and the other half of the school goes the other two days (Mon-Tues vs Thur-Fri). Wednesday the whole school is virtual.

Tip #1: Set a schedule

Personally I have to zoom in at 7:55 AM Thurs-Fri for my first hour class, so I have to get up early either way. I get up at seven and eat breakfast, then I do a quick workout. Even if you want to sleep in, you should get up at the same time every day, and make sure you’re still getting enough sleep! Schedules help you preform better and stay on top of everything. When you have a schedule it’s a lot easier to avoid stressing!

Your schedule can be as loose or strict as you want, as long as you’re continuing to stick to it and it’s manageable for you.

Tip #2: Keep a planner

In order to stay on top of things, get a planner or use your phone to keep track of assignments! Some students use an online planner, some use google calendar, but I prefer good old pen and paper. This can be as complicated or as simple as you want, just like making a schedule.

Tip #3: Do your school (or work) first

Prioritize getting your school and work done first in the day. No matter how early (or late) you get up, focus on work/school first thing in the morning. Personally I eat breakfast, do a quick workout to wake up fully, and then I start school. This allows me to finish school before lunch, most days!
